Sanctuary Horses: Healing Through Connection

Writer's picture: Jackie HillenJackie Hillen

At Sanctuary Horses, rescued equines find safety, care, and purpose. Each horse arrives with its own story—some displaced by circumstances, others misunderstood or no longer able to be cared for. Here, they are cherished, valued, and given a second chance at life.

But the work doesn’t stop there. Sanctuary Horses envisions a future where these incredible animals help transform lives. Through equine-assisted therapy, these horses will partner with young women healing from trauma. Plans are underway to create a dedicated facility, The Sanctuary, where human and horse will come together in a powerful journey of mutual healing and growth.

Horses possess an extraordinary ability to connect with people. Their calm, intuitive nature can ease anxiety and foster trust, while their honest reactions encourage self-awareness and confidence. For the young women seeking healing, these horses will offer a unique kind of support—one that is nonjudgmental, quiet, and deeply impactful.

This transformative work is only possible because of the care the horses receive today. By supporting Sanctuary Horses through the 365 Days of Hope Movement, you ensure these animals remain healthy and ready to take on their roles as partners in healing.

Together, we can make this vision a reality—where rescued horses help restore resilience and hope, under the wide-open skies of Wyoming.
